Casablanca and Tangier are now closer thanks to Moroccan&#8217;s new high-speed train, LGV Maroc, Africa&#8217;s fastest railway line. The inauguration event held in November 2018 was attended by Moroccan King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The high-speed train, called Al Boraq after the mythical creature in Islamic tradition, reduced the travelling time between the two cities by half, and united two very important economic hubs, namely the port of Casablanca on the Atlantic coast and the port of Tangeri Med overlooking the Mediterranean; great benefits were also seen by the surrounding commercial and tourist areas.
The train line, which covers 200 kilometres along the Atlantic coast, is part of a wider project that aims to lay about 1500 kilometres of the high-speed railway line by 2030 in Morocco.
Disano, an Italian company known for its expertise in the railway lighting segment, took care of the installation of the lights at the Tangier station. The products selected, Loto, Minilinea, Floor LED and iSpot, stand out for the high technological quality of their components. The insertion of latest generation LED sources ensures high colour rendering and flicker-free light, guaranteeing visual wellbeing for users. In fact, when a place is illuminated with the right light, it is perceived as safer and, therefore, more comfortable.
In detail, outdoors, we mounted Loto, an Italian excellence in urban decor. Its clean lines blend perfectly into the surrounding environment and the LED sources ensure high lighting performance.
Indoors, we installed Minilinea, Floor and the recessed iSpot, also characterised by a clean and stylish design to be minimally invasive as possible.
These products are all dimmable and can be managed with highly advanced control systems to meet the growing need of providing light only when and where needed.  In practical terms, these solutions translate into notable energy savings and lower maintenance costs.
A further advantage given by the modern LED sources in Disano&#8216;s lighting fixtures is the major reduction of CO2 emissions to meet the current need of a sustainable and ecological lighting system.
