Lighting management systems

To take full advantage of the energy-saving potential of LEDs, lighting fixtures are equipped with an internal electronic system comprising a microprocessor, which controls the luminous flux from 0 to 100%, making energy savings increase accordingly. This allows the luminaire to be operated at reduced power in specific installations, according to programmable periods of time or through the provision of appropriate devices, such as light or presence sensors. According to the UNI-11248:2007 road standard, roads can be classified into two categories, but the use of energy-efficient luminaires allows reducing the classification by up to two categories down, thus reducing light flow at night when there is little traffic. Dynamic lighting is also useful in less crowded areas, such as underground parking and underpasses.
