Since its first opening in 1947, the Salomon store has enjoyed a history of continuous success. Founded in Annecy as a small steelwork workshop, Salomon expanded in the 1980s, specialising in ski equipment. By the early 2000s, Salomon had secured a dominant market position, producing everything needed for outdoor sports.
In 2000, marking a major milestone in its expansion, it inaugurated the Annecy Design Center (ADC), which now employs around 750 people dedicated to the design, research, and development of every product brought to market.
Recently, a new Salomon Store opened in Annecy, not far from the design centre. The store boasts a spacious, brightly lit interior, showcasing the brand’s latest products in full view. Its extensive range includes everything from ski and snowboard equipment to gear for hiking, running, and other outdoor sports. One area is dedicated to custom-moulding ski boots, while another offers equipment rentals for an optimal snow and ice sports experience.
Such a stylish store deserved innovative lighting solutions that not only enhance the atmosphere but also provide high-quality illumination. With these requirements in mind, the lighting design was entrusted to Disano, a leading company in retail and commercial lighting.
For this project, Asso adjustable recessed luminaires in various sizes were selected for their exceptional functionality and advanced technology. In the display area, Kripton spotlights mounted on Omnitrack systems were used to highlight the products, bringing out their colours, fine craftsmanship, and intricate details.
Each Disano lighting fixture, with its sleek, discreet design, is equipped with state-of-the-art LEDs to deliver exceptional colour rendering and high efficiency. This ensures maximum visual comfort, further enhanced by flicker-free technology to prevent eye strain. The result? Flawless illumination that faithfully reproduces the colours of the merchandise while protecting the eyesight of both customers and sales staff.
In addition to superior lighting quality, the advanced LEDs incorporated in these fixtures offer a long lifespan and significantly reduce energy and maintenance costs.
