The Plaza Vea supermarkets have been witnessing massive growth since 2007. With Vivanda, Oslo logistics, Makro e Mass, it is part of Supermercados Peruanos S.A., the second largest supermarket chain in Peru with outlets in the capital Lima as well as in many other cities, such as Arequipa, Callao, Ica and Chiclayo, employing over 20,000 people. The distinctive feature of these supermarkets is a responsible supply chain with a preference for local, biologically and organically produced foods, an environmentally sustainable policy that recycles 70% of their waste and, last but not least, support for the development of the country and its inhabitants through local organisations.
A new Plaza Vea hypermarket recently opened in Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca empire. During the construction phase, great attention was paid to the lighting system, which was designed by Disano. This included the installation of LED-only fixtures, such as Techno System, Asso, Echo LED, Eco Lex, Eco Pannello and BoreaLED.
In detail, the sales area was illuminated with Techno System ceiling lights, one of the leading articles in Disano&#8216;s production for commercial and industrial spaces, thanks to extremely advantageous technical features such as gear completeness, reliability and flexibility. In terms of performance, the latest-generation LED sources of the Techno System ceiling lights deliver a stable light (low flicker) and no glare, creating the perfect workplace, where managers can safely display fresh produce and customers can enjoy their shopping.
To emphasise details and colours, the choice fell upon Asso, discreet and contemporary spotlights. In the warehouses, on the other hand, the watertight Echo fixtures were used, which also include innovative LED sources.
Disano&#8216;s decision to equip all of its products with the latest generation of LEDs also brings great economic benefits, as these sources reduce maintenance and energy costs, which is very important in places where lights stay on all day.
