Pilsen is a charming town not far from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It sits beautifully between lush forests and the park surrounding its historic centre. Every street and square are lined with elegant buildings and remnants of its rich history, like the medieval city walls or the Museum of West Bohemian, which dates back to 1853. In the heart of its main square, Republic Square, stands St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral, a striking Gothic building from the 13th century, around the time Pilsen itself was founded.

Moreover, this beautiful Bohemian town offers many ways to have fun, whether you’re attending a ballet, opera or musical at the renowned JK Tyl Theatre, or cheering on a match at the Doosan Arena.

The multi-sports venue, also known as Pilsen City Stadium (Stadion města Plzně), mainly hosts football games and is home to the local team, Viktoria Plzeň.

Opened in 1955, the stadium underwent several renovations and expansions, reaching the capacity of around 12,000 spectators.

The latest upgrade included the installation of an advanced all-LED lighting system. This upgrade not only improved visibility during games but also significantly reduced energy consumption. The LED sources provide a brighter, evenly distributed light, enhancing the experience for both players and fans, while also being more energy efficient.

The products chosen for this project were the Disano Forum 2.0 floodlights, known for their top-notch technical features that deliver high performance. These LED lights offer high-quality illumination with no light dispersion, keeping energy costs down.  Plus, the light flux is steady with minimal flicker (low flicker) and completely glare-free, making them ideal for protecting the eyesight of both athletes and spectators.

A further advantage is offered by the DMX version of Forum 2.0. Thanks to digital communication, it allows precise control of the lighting, adjusting the type and intensity based on the event – whether it’s a training session, a friendly match, or an official game. But that’s not all. The DMX protocol also enables striking visual effects, bringing extra flair and colour to any sporting occasion.

The sober lines and compact body of this exquisitely designed, Made-in-Italy product add to its exceptional appeal.

The Czech stadium now boasts an ultra-modern lighting system that excels in both quality and performance – efficient, safe and eco-friendly. Moreover, its advanced management options ensure the perfect lighting for any event. It’s no surprise that the choice landed on Disano’s Forum 2.0, a floodlight that combines cutting-edge LED technology with an eye-catching design that never goes unnoticed.
