The Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona, Spain, is a multi-sports venue hosting the games of various disciplines, such as ice hockey, basketball, handball and five-a-side football starring the world-famous Futbol Club Barcelona team.
The venue was inaugurated in 1971 for just over 5600 spectators; the modernisation works carried out in 1994 expanded its capacity to 8200 seats, whereas the main grandstand area was refurbished in 2016.
The Palau Blaugrana has also been the main venue of major sporting events: during the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, competitions in roller hockey, judo and taekwondo, a Korean martial art, were held here.
The multi-sports centre recently decided to equip itself with a modern lighting system. The lighting design, developed by Disano, included the installation of lighting fixtures that ensure a high level of efficiency and performance. The solution was provided by LED Forum, a floodlight successfully installed by the Milan-based lighting manufacturer in numerous international arenas.
In particular, the Forum LED lighting fixtures, an authentic Made-in-Italy brand, are equipped with technologically advanced LED sources. The result is a floodlight with a perfect colour rendering combined with a precise and stable light emission, free of the harmful flickering effect. What’s more, the special optics allow for high horizontal and vertical illumination.
In addition, the LED sources ensure notable reductions in energy and maintenance costs.
These technical features make Disano floodlights particularly suitable for the modern requirements dictated by high-definition television.
Disano installed Forum LED in the DMX version, for optimal light control, while creating light effects of great visual impact to make the sporting events taking place in the Spanish stadium even more spectacular.
Forum LED is the obvious choice for obtaining quality, energy efficiency, visual well-being, and energy-saving lighting systems.
