In 2009, the UNESCO World Council made an unequivocal decision: the Brenta Dolomites were to be included in the prestigious World Natural Heritage list. This awe-inspiring mountain range, hailed by the famous architect Le Corbusier as the &#8220;the most beautiful work of architecture in the world&#8221;, unveils panoramas where nature thrives in its purest form. This breathtaking landscape includes charming villages like Andalo and renowned tourist destinations such as Madonna di Campiglio and, not far away, Pinzolo in the Rendena Valley.
Pinzolo itself recently welcomed an ultra-modern cable transport system, connecting Prà Rodont and Doss del Sabion. This installation pays homage to sustainability and harmonious coexistence with the incomparable beauty of the Alpine landscapes.
Totally 53 cable cars were installed, each accommodating up to 10 people. One of these cable cars features a transparent floor, allowing passengers to admire the amazing panorama of the Trentino valley, ranging from the Adamello and Presanella Alps to the extensive Adamello Brenta Natural Park, and even catch glimpses of Lake Idro on clear days. Supported by 11 pylons, the gondola lift employs automatic monocable coupling with continuous movement, replacing the previous 4-seater chairlift in operation since 1988. The departure and arrival stations have also been rebuilt, now entirely underground to seamlessly blend with the surrounding rocky landscape. In line with environmental conservation criteria, recycled materials from the previous installation were used, and a higher hourly capacity was achieved without compromising energy consumption.
The lighting system for the cable transport system, departure and arrival stations, and supports had to comply with the principles of sustainability, economy, and seamless aesthetic integration with the natural surroundings. To achieve these objectives, a leading company in high-quality lighting &#8211; such as Disano &#8211; was the natural choice. The installation included Cromo floodlights, Astro reflectors, and Hydro watertight fixtures. Each luminaire features extremely high-performance, latest-generation LED sources, ensuring a perfect, eye-friendly light output. In terms of lighting technology, the excellent colour rendering index is complemented by flux stability (low flicker) over an extended service life, hence saving on both energy and maintenance costs.
And that&#8217;s not all. These advanced LED sources significantly reduce their impact on the environment by minimising pollutants released, a clear testament to Disano&#8216;s commitment to our planet and its inhabitants.

Once again, the Italian lighting manufacturer Disano tailored a project characterised by the most advanced lighting technology. The Dos del Sabion cable transport system now boasts a lighting system that not only enhances skiers’ visibility with complete safety but also ensures cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability.
