The port of Ashdod is a key infrastructure for Israel&#8217;s sea traffic. It is strategically located near the city of Tel Aviv, its industrial and commercial areas and major communication routes. Inaugurated in 1965, following a meticulous climate and maritime study, it is now one of Israel&#8217;s two main merchant ports, as well as having terminals for cruise and passenger ships following the agreement signed between the governments of Egypt and Israel in 1975.
As part of the redevelopment of the Israeli infrastructure, special attention was paid to the lighting design of the terminals, to which Disano, an Italian company with long experience in the lighting of infrastructure, such as ports, air terminals, tunnels and bridges.
For this specific project, the Saturno LED floodlights were used, fully ensuring the many benefits of modern lighting technology, such as high luminous efficiency, significantly reduced energy consumption and maintenance costs, as well as extremely high colour rendering index. The aim is to enable every user passing through the Israeli infrastructure to have significantly better, healthier and safer visibility.
Moreover, Saturno&#8216;s compact, clean-lined body is built with the best materials to last in time and minimise deterioration.
For the port of Ashod, Disano has therefore set up an extremely advanced lighting system with the highest technical specifications to adequately illuminate the terminals, protect the visual wellbeing and instil safety in workers and travellers.
