In Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, the Sports Park Stožice boasts a multifunctional complex nestled amidst lush greenery, turning into an iconic landmark of the city. The project was entrusted to the renowned SADAR + VUGA firm, which received the prestigious Zupancic Award from the city for its exceptionally creative urban planning. This award prizes projects characterised by seamless integration with the urban fabric.
The complex comprises a stadium and a sports hall, both operational since 2010, along with a shopping centre completed in 2011. These modern and functional structures harmoniously engage with the natural landscape that surrounds them.
The stadium, with a seating capacity of 16,000, serves as the home ground for the NK Olimpia Ljubljana football club (Nogometni Klub Olimpija Ljubljana), and hosts matches, concerts, and various social events. The originality of this arena is well reflected in its structure that seems to sink into the park, with only the steel roof emerging. Access to the stadium is via four flights of stairs, which gradually descend through the park&#8217;s terrain.
To match the stadium&#8217;s futuristic aesthetics, a cutting-edge lighting system was essential. The task was entrusted to Disano, a leading Italian company specialising in lighting fixtures for indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The project curated by the Italian lighting leader involved installing state-of-the-art Forum LED floodlights, equipped with symmetrical and asymmetrical optics, varying beam angles, and different wattages. Notably, they achieve a colour temperature of 5700 K and boast an excellent colour rendering index (CRI 90). Their reliability, resistance, and robustness are unmatched.
Thanks to these exceptional lighting qualities, the floodlight installed by Disano meets the stringent demands for luminous efficiency and visual well-being set by global competitions and international governing bodies.
Forum LED luminaires represent the clear and optimal choice, serving as a superior alternative to conventional light sources when aiming for efficient, stable, and precise illumination.
Moreover, the use of Forum floodlights aligns with an additional objective: transitioning toward lighting that is not only environmentally friendly but also economically viable, resulting in significant reductions in energy and maintenance costs.
Furthermore, the version equipped with a DMX (Digital MultipleX) driver and centralised console enhances Forum&#8216;s technical capabilities, ensuring complete control and improved flow management, further lowering consumption levels.
As a result, the Stožice stadium now shines with the ideal lighting: Disano floodlights are functional, efficient, safe for spectators&#8217; eyesight, and respectful of the Slovenian park&#8217;s surroundings.
