Close to Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, lies one of the oldest towns in the country, Trnava, with a historic centre presumably dating back to the end of the 9th century and dotted with buildings in different architectural styles. In the main square, stands the Renaissance civic tower erected in 1574, with the sundial and the statue of the Immaculate Conception situated on the Renaissance dome. The Baroque Trinity column is from 1695. The single-nave church of the Assumption is in the Romanesque style, while the 13th-century fortification is in Gothic style. Art, history and even culture are intertwined in the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University. Founded in 1635, it is the oldest university in Slovakia and consists of buildings of great artistic value and important cultural centres, such as the University Library and the University Museum, which cherish ancient volumes and manuscripts.

Trnava, however, knows how to combine the past with the present. The Slovak town is also famous for being home to TC Empire, the most modern and largest tennis club in the country, of which the Academy is a part. It is a well-structured sports complex, complete with numerous services. During the renovation, TC Empire decided to set aside an important part of the work to the court lighting and entrusted Disano with the job. The designers opted for Rodio floodlights, built according to the famous Italian know-how that distinguishes the country worldwide.

Their unique design, with a minimalist body and sober lines, combines well with the most advanced technical features. The light sources in Rodio are carefully selected and evaluated in the Italian company’s laboratories to allow unparalleled lighting performance, such as high colour rendering, excellent energy savings maintained over the very long service life, as well as light flux uniformity to protect human sight.

Moreover, these lamps can manage and control the light in the best possible way, thanks to DALI technology.

Disano has therefore installed efficient and extremely functional lighting equipment to help make every match or training session that takes place on the Empire Club’s tennis courts more spectacular.
