The GKS Rozbark Bytom (Gorniczy Klub Sportowy &#8211; Miners&#8217; Sports Centre) is a multi-sport club founded in 1946 with the name KS OMTUR-Rozbark. It was originally designed to provide a sports centre where the young miners working in the nearby coal mines of Bytom, a city in Upper Silesia, Poland, could practice sports such as football, boxing, swimming, table tennis and chess.
After the mines were closed and abandoned, the stadium underwent several changes until 2017, when the home football club, the GKS Rozbark, made it back to the Ekstraklasa, Poland&#8217;s top football league. Two years later, in 2019, authorities began the construction of a new stadium with an artificial turf pitch.
One of the main works included redoing the lighting system, which needed to be energy-efficient, technologically advanced, and low-energy. The lighting design was entrusted to Disano, an Italian lighting manufacturer and a global leader in the construction of lighting systems for any size and type of sports venue, and large surfaces and public infrastructure.
In this case, the client installed the Radon floodlights with LED sources, which guarantee a considerable reduction in energy costs, very high lighting performance and perfect aiming of the light beam. Choosing LED sources means ensuring great reliability throughout the system’s very long lifespan while delivering a safe and stable luminous flux, protecting the visual well-being of players and viewers.
The advanced technical components in the Disano lighting fixture are inside a slim body that creates a minimalist silhouette, as expected of a Made-in-Italy product. Even the materials used for their construction were carefully selected to avoid alterations over time and ensure extraordinary durability and resistance.
The GKS Rozbark club in Bytom can now count on a football pitch illuminated by a state-of-the-art lighting system that is extremely energy efficient, visually safe and comfortable, thanks to the exceptional Disano floodlights.
