The Hera S.p.A. Group has been operating in Italy since 2002, providing public utility services to both private and corporate sectors. Its services include the provision of electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, water and waste management.
Founded in Bologna, where its headquarters are located, the company has expanded its reach over the years and now operates in numerous cities in the region of Emilia-Romagna and beyond, including Ferrara, Cesena, Padua, Modena, Ravenna, Rimini, Udine, and Trieste.
A strong emphasis on local engagement, the adoption of circular economy principles, and a commitment to eco-sustainable development are the cornerstones of the company’s operations.
At its Cesena offices, the Hera Group recently commissioned Disano to handle the lighting for its new offices. For this project, they chose the Comfortsquare luminaire, which exemplifies excellence in LED technology for interior lighting.
These recessed luminaires are notable for their high-quality light output, ensuring proper light distribution, effective heat dissipation, and excellent colour rendering. Most importantly, they produce a stable and precise light flux, minimising flicker, often imperceptible to the human eye but potentially harmful. The use of high-performance LEDs also offers additional advantages, including a long service life and reduced energy and maintenance costs.
The HCL (Human Centric Lighting) version from the Comfortsquare family was chosen for its revolutionary approach to lighting design that prioritises individual well-being and performance. Specifically, the brightness and colour temperatures of the light are adjusted to mimic natural daylight, supporting the body&#8217;s physiological processes, including the circadian rhythms that govern daily functions. The aim is to preserve the regularity of these cycles, especially the sleep-wake cycle, which helps safeguard and potentially improve overall psychological and physical health.
This is why lighting design considers a wide range of needs, encompassing not only visual aspects but also emotional and biological factors.
Today, the HCL lighting concept is applied in various places, including offices, schools, hospitals and homes. For instance, cooler, blue-enriched light in the morning can enhance alertness and productivity, while warmer light in the evening fosters relaxation. Moreover, modern HCL systems frequently use LED sources and feature digital controls that dynamically adjust the lighting based on the time of day and the availability of natural light.
